What equipment run wouldn't be complete without plundering as many heart containers as possible? Heart containers, as usual, are the key to this game, as they spell out more offensive power as well as more survivability. All in all, they rock.
Along those lines, the major target of this marathon run was to get the white sword. This weapon is the first marketable weapon of the game, given that the wooden sword is such a lousy excuse. I'm very glad that, even in the second quest, you can get this blade very early in the game. Compared to the first quest, however, you do need to traverse the first dungeon before you can lay claim to the white sword. The first quest lets you not have to set foot into the underworld with the wooden stick.
